Statement
I enjoy creating works that demand the viewer's attention, through bold statements, contradiction, illusion or moving beyond the visual senses.
I have a vivid imagination, a strong curiosity and no desire to limit myself to a focused exploration o the minimal. I enjoy the absurdity and duality that is human nature.
I think what sets my work apart from others is my ability to mix techniques as well as mediums. My work tends to be very tight and finished with no loose ends trailing off, which is a bit of a contradiction to the way I conduct my daily affairs.
Mike Kendall was the Artist In Residence at SF Recycling and Disposal, Inc. from July 15, 2001 to October 15, 2001. His reception was held on Saturday, October 6, 2001.
